This includes more than 35,000 loyal followers on Facebook under my real name, Pascal Umiker, as well as my rapidly growing global fanbase under @umi_music_official on Instagram. After years of inspiring students locally at my Umis Rockside music school, this website is now the official international hub for all my exclusive video lessons, premium exercises, and precise PDF tabs.

My Journey with the Guitar

From a very young age, I made a clear decision: my life would belong entirely to the guitar. My journey began as a teenager playing in various bands. This era drove me to solidify my musical foundation, leading me to complete a professional music education at the Jazz, Rock and Pop Academy (WIAM) in Winterthur, Switzerland, where I graduated with a certification in electric guitar.

It was the direct demand from inspired concertgoers who wanted private guitar lessons that sparked the idea to create Umis Rockside – a dedicated academy focusing intensely and passionately on the guitar.

The Japanese Influence: J-Rock & J-Metal

Throughout my career as a professional guitarist, I have had the privilege of learning from and collaborating with renowned musicians. A truly definitive chapter of my journey unfolded in Asia: through numerous stays in Japan and intensive training under the celebrated guitarist 伊藤雅人 (Masato Itoh), my playing style became deeply influenced by the Japanese music scene.

When I am not teaching, I regularly work in the studio as a recording artist and songwriter. While my own compositions are heavily inspired by J-Rock and J-Metal, my heart beats for the entire spectrum of music. I am open to all styles and love fusing different genres right on the fretboard. Welcome to the academy – I am glad you are here!
